I ran across Exodus 4:31 this morning, “And when they heard that the LORD was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.”  This verse really caught my eye for my own life and for the Roma people.  I am leaving one week from today to help lead a group of 40 plus students with the IMB and International World Changers to serve the Roma people in Prague, Czech Republic.  They are a shunned and neglected group of people not only in most local societies but also, sadly, among many churches who refuse to serve Christ among them.  We will have the awesome privilege during the week to share the Good News of the Gospel with the Roma and to spread the word about Cacipen Church, a new church community planted in Prague for the Roma. Go here for a quick overview of the Roma and to see the work that is being done to share the love of Christ with these kind and humble people.

Please join with us in seeking God for His work to be done on this mission trip. Pray for Boyd Hatchell and his family who have been working with the Roma in Europe for many years and will be leading us during our trip.  Please pray for Jason Hale, Sheila Balthaser, and myself as we continue to discern the Lords direction for the week.  Please pray for the students and leaders that have sacrificed much to serve the Roma for a week in Prague.  Please pray for the hearts and souls of the Roma to be softened as we befriend them next week and for Cacipen Church who will be continuing their ministry among the Roma long after we leave.  The Lord surely has seen our misery.  Pray that we might respond to Him in worship.

Jason and I had a chance to visit Prague in January to get ready for the trip.  Here is a little video that I put together to prepare us for our time serving in Prague next week.  I’m not a video editor but I have a Mac…
